MOO(N) Zero Waste Market Muir of Ord

26 May 2019

Starts: 12:00
Ends: 14:00

From the MOON Marketing website

"MOO(N) is launching the first local, Zero Waste Market in the Highlands, promoting a more sustainable and eco-conscious way of living with the goal of reducing waste. Our monthly markets will showcase local produce, plants, vintage and pre-owned clothing, retro furniture and earth-friendly products.

"The MOO(N) MARKET has been set up to promote a change in the way we live and shop. We are working towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle that is attainable and manageable and we would love to support others in doing the same.

"Our launch market had a fantastic turnout and our next market is planned for Sunday 26 May 2019 from 11-2pm at Muir of Ord Village Hall. (This will be the last market before we have a break over the summer).

"The market will showcase a combination of second hand, vintage and recycled goods as well as great selection of eco-friendly products and local produce.  Visitors will be able to purchase fantastic items that don’t use plastic packaging and have a low carbon footprint.

"We aim to demonstrate how you can have a beautiful wardrobe of clothes without shopping at fast fashion outlets. You don’t need to buy new to look amazing.

"We aim to demonstrate how you can furnish and equip your home with pre-owned, recycled and up-cycled products.  We also aim to encourage the repair and re-use of many items rather than them being thrown away.

"Our motto is ‘waste not, want not’ ".
